Question by eliunger: Considering a new Wireless Range Extender, dLAN 200 AV Wireless G Starter Kit or NetGear Wireless Range kit?
I’m considering the option of buying a new wireless range extender.

I want to buy one of the following two, which one is better or which one will give me the most coverage?

1. dLAN 200 AV Wireless G Starter Kit

2. NetGear 54 Mbps Wall-Plugged Wireless Range Extender Kit

These are both ‘g’ wireless so they will be equivalent. The range extender idea is that of a radio repeater. The source will be your wifi router connected to the broadband modem. the wifi cannot go around corners or through heating ducts and such, so you set the range extender in an area where it can receive a signal from the router but also where it can send a signal to your computer in another area. Its all location location. I’ve done this at home and at work and they can be rather difficult to get right. If these vendors have help community forums I suggest you go into them and see how much trouble people are having. I have a Linksys WRE54G and I should have looked first. People have a lot of trouble. I did get mine working but it was a challenge.
