Question by Cici: How can you feed off of a broadband network?
I just recently got a laptop, and have no internet service. But my brother does, and he has wireless, so its fairly easy to feed off his connection. Put the passphrase in and boom. But my sister in law, (other brother’s wife) she has a broadband connection, and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to feed off her service. Any one? Any thing you can tell me would be very helpful and appreciated.

It really depends on how she connects to the internet. I’m not talking about what kind of connection she has. People generalize connection type to speed. Dial-up = slow all the way up to Fios = fast.
If she is using a standard cable internet box or something of the sort you will need to buy a router that you can use while your there and you will need to have her permission to use it. If she already has a router you’re going to have to ask very nicely for her pass phrase because (in my opinion) most people that are smart enough to give their routers passwords don’t usually give them out.

If she has a wireless connection, you do exactly the same: put in a passphrase and boom. If her connection is only wired, your only hope is to unplug her connector, plug it into yours, put the passphrases in and boom.
