I have a dell dimension 3000 I got in 2005 and it’s a great computer, still going really well. It doesn’t have a wireless option but it there anyway to make it wireless?

Jen, yes you can make your dell dimension 3000 a wireless computer. You have a couple of options when it comes to adding a wireless adapter to your system. Easiest one is just picking up a USB wireless network adapter and inserting it into one of your USB ports. According to the Dell manual there are 4 in the back and 2 front on your computer. The second option requires installing a PCI wireless network adapter in one of the 3 PCI slots in your computer. This will require opening up your computer case and installing the NIC (network interface card). I Prefer option 2, it’s how I have my desktop (also a dell) setup at home.

  1. Why would you make it wireless. It’s slower and exposes you to hacking and stealing your bandwith.
